
The two suspects threatened staff as they opened the petrol station rue des Martyrs at 5.30am on Sunday. The perpetrators emptied the till and fled in the direction of the French border with a number of stolen cigarette packets.
Police launched a search, but all efforts proved to be in vain. The CGDIS psychology services offered support to the four members of staff at the petrol station.
Police arrested two burglars in Weimerskirch on Sunday morning after a break-in was reported. Officers caught one of the two individuals in the act, while the other tried to run away on foot, but was arrested shortly afterwards.
Both men were taken to the police station, where one suspect turned violent and injured a police officer. He received an additional charge for this and both were arrested by order of the public prosecutor’s office.
At around 8pm on Saturday, police were made aware of the theft of a large cable drum on Rue Joseph Kieffer, Esch-sur-Alzette. The perpetrator was soon located in a delivery van at the Raemerich roundabout, where police found the stolen item.
Police were also called out to the Route de Luxembourg in Rodange to deal with a physical altercation between a number of people. Two of the individuals present behaved so aggressively that police were forced to immobilise them. It transpired the two people had attacked another man earlier. Both were heavily intoxicated and considered to be a risk to themselves and others, and were therefore taken into custody overnight, where they underwent medical checks.
