Police received a report at around 10.30pm on Tuesday that a car was on fire in Rue d'Epernay, located in Luxembourg City. According to police, a security guard witnessed a person attaching an object to one of the vehicle’s tyres before setting it alight and fleeing in the direction of Luxembourg-Gare.
When officers arrived at the scene, the front right section of the car, as well as parts of the engine, were already ablaze. Police officers were able to bring the fire under control with a fire extinguisher until firefighters arrived and fully extinguished the blaze. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
Shortly afterwards, officers located and arrested the suspect near Place de la Gare. A lighter was found in the man's possession and was confiscated as evidence.
