80 jobs at riskStugalux Construction to confront potential layoffs in union-mediated talks

RTL Today
Stugalux Construction faces a pivotal moment this Monday as management and staff, backed by major trade unions OGBL and LCGB, convene to tackle the possible elimination of 30% of its workforce.

On Monday afternoon, management of Stugalux Construction will meet with staff representatives to discuss the future of the company where 80 jobs – 30% of its personnel – are said to be at risk.

In support of employees, both the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) and the Luxembourg Confederation of Independent Trade Unions (LCGB) will send spokespeople to join the meeting. In anticipation of a potential clash, the LCGB has already announced that they deem a redundancy programme and layoffs unacceptable. The confederation has spoken out in favour of a job retention plan to avoid as many layoffs as possible.

It should be noted that Stugalux Construction and Stugalux Promotion are two independent entities that have been run separately for the past 15 years.
