
To render the programme more sustainable in financial terms, the Ministry for Mobility conducted a reform of it in 2020, alongside the implementation of free public transport. Furthermore, it is now possible to order a van via app and use the service up to 15 times per month.
Stricter criteria have been designed for the service, but due to Covid-19, their implementation had to be postponed. It was asserted that the regulations were too vague in terms of who is eligible for the service. Every single application to be registered in the respective databank is therefore checked rigorously.
Transportation officials further emphasised that Adapto is only designed to help out people with disabilities, not the elderly. The Ministry for Family Affairs is responsible for aids in that domain.
