The discussion surrounding Steinfort's school situation has been resolved, with the municipality's majority parties backing the status quo of maintaining schools at two separate locations – in Steinfort and Kleinbettingen.

The Christian Social People's Party (CSV), currently in the opposition in Steinfort, had advocated for a single school campus in the municipality and sought to launch a referendum on the matter.

However, as first reported by Radio 100,7 and later confirmed to RTL by CSV councillor Rafael Gomes, the initiative failed to collect the required 750 signatures, despite information meetings organised by CSV representatives.

As a result, the issue is off the table for the time being.
