RTL Today
A police patrol intercepted a speeding motorist in the south of the country on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers attempted to stop the motorist, but the latter ignored the sirens and fled towards Belval. The police patrol gave chase and eventually caught up with the car on Avenue du Blues.

It transpired that the driver was not the owner of the car, and the vehicle no longer had a valid technical inspection certificate. One of the car's passengers was also wanted by police for failure to pay previous fines, while a third was found in possession of 7 grams of hashish. According to the police report, officers seized the drugs, made the passenger pay the outstanding fine, and issued a fine to the driver.

Later, at around 11pm, police intervened on the A13 motorway after an intoxicated driver was found travelling towards Schifflange. The latter reacted aggressively towards police and refused to submit to a second breathalyser test and bloodwork after the first revealed he was excessively over the authorised limit. Police issued a ticket as he was violating the terms of curfew and further issued a fine for breaking the Highway Code.

Finally, on Rue de la Montagne in Hamm a cyclist was treated for injuries after falling from his bike at around 8.30pm. He was taken to hospital for further treatment and given a driving ban due to intoxication.
