A snowy winter has finally arrived, bringing hazardous road conditions that have led to multiple accidents and several injuries from Friday evening to Saturday morning.

Medical emergency services and emergency responders from Luxembourg City and Mamer were called out in the early hours of Saturday morning after a car, while leaving the RN6 between Bertrange and Strassen at around 1.45am, left three people injured. All three injured were passengers in the vehicle concerned and were were treated at the scene before being taken to the emergency department.

Earlier on Friday evening, at around 7.20pm, three more people were injured in a head-on collision between two cars on Rue de Noertzange in Kayl for reasons yet to be determined. The victims were rescued by the Kayl fire brigade before being transported to hospital by Dudelange emergency services.

At around 6.15pm, emergency services from Junglinster were called to attend to a driver whose car had ended up in a ditch on the CR134 between Olingen and Roodt-sur-Syre. Firefighters from Mensdorf assisted in the rescue.

Shortly after 6pm, another collision involving two cars occurred on Rue de Mamer in Kehlen. One person was injured and was rescued by services despatched from Mamer following the intervention of the Kehlen fire brigade.
