
The six individuals were selected for their services to other people, general society, and the country.
Monique Mille is best known for her work in theatre and cabaret, as well as her volunteer work with seniors in CIPA Howald. She represents the many volunteers who spend their time helping at retirement and care homes. “It is a commitment to a society where no one is forgotten, where everyone has a place and people are there for one another,” said the Prime Minister. Mille was awarded the title of Commander of the Order of the Oak Crown by the Grand Duke on behalf of all volunteers.
Kelvin Josue Alvarado Oliva was decorated for an act of immense civil courage, after he saved another person’s life in November 2022. The first to appear at the scene of a car accident, Alvarado Oliva did not hesitate to pull the person out of the burning wreck.
The Grand Duke awarded him Luxembourg’s Honour medal for courage and devotion.

Leandro Barreiro Martins may only be at the start of his career, but within a short amount of time he has managed to extend his influence beyond the borders as an ambassador for Luxembourg and Luxembourg football. Xavier Bettel described the footballer as a sympathetic, always fair, collected and reflective sportsman.
Martins was awarded the title of Knight of the Order of the Oak Crown.

The “world’s strongest man” broke the first of his 26 world records aged just 19 in 1982. Since then, Georges Christen has devoted time to charity work alongside his training, volunteering for Caritas among others. Sixteen years ago, he launched a free bodybuilding and sports programme aimed at people in difficult circumstances. Around 100 people profit from the programme on an annual basis.
Christen was awarded the title of Officer of the Order of the Oak Crown for his volunteer work.

Xavier Bettel credited Christiane Kremer with shaping Luxembourg’s cultural scene over the past four decades. A well-known journalist, Kremer has succeeded in bringing culture to the forefront and is dedicated to sharing cultural content, writing, translating and publishing her own books.
She was awarded the title of Officer of the Order of the Oak Crown by the Grand Duke.

In 1976, René Elvinger became the very first employee of specialist automotive supplier CEBI. These days, the company employs over 700 people in Steinsel, and over 3,000 employees worldwide. Elvinger also dedicates time to volunteering, particularly for the elderly, and was one of the founding members of the Elysis care home.
He received the title of Commander of the Order of the Oak Crown for his work.
