
Police officers were dispatched to the scene in Vianden on Monday morning following reports that several parking meters had been vandalised. Upon arrival, officers confirmed that six devices had been forcibly opened. Forensic experts were called in to collect evidence, and an investigation is now underway.
In their efforts to apprehend those responsible, police are asking members of the public to come forward with any information that might assist the investigation. Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity is urged to contact the Diekirch/Vianden police station by calling (+352) 244 80 1000 or by emailing police.diekirchvianden@police.etat.lu.
The municipality of Vianden has also issued an appeal for information on its social media channels.
Police have also reported incidents of theft from vehicles elsewhere in Luxembourg. During the night from Monday to Tuesday, a window was smashed on a car in Gasperich and a laptop was stolen from the vehicle, according to initial reports.
Additionally, on Tuesday morning, tools were stolen from a van parked on Rue des Mines in Rumelange. In both cases, investigations have been launched.
