Multiple incidents kept Luxembourg police occupied on Friday night, ranging from public disturbances to attempted burglaries.

On Friday evening, Luxembourg police responded to several incidents across the country, including threats, harassment, and burglaries.

The first incident occurred at around 8.40pm in Pétange, where police were called to a petrol station following reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located an individual who was alleged to have threatened a salesperson and attempted to leave without paying. When asked to accompany the police to the station, the individual became aggressive, prompting officers to immobilise them. Due to the person’s behaviour, which posed a risk to themselves and others, they were detained overnight after a medical evaluation. The individual remained uncooperative and aggressive while in custody.

In a separate incident in Luxembourg City, police were called to a bar after an intoxicated individual allegedly harassed other patrons and refused to leave. Officers arrived on the scene and identified the heavily inebriated person, who was subsequently detained overnight due to their disruptive behaviour and state of intoxication.

The police also reported multiple burglaries on Friday evening. In Schieren, a single-family home was targeted, while a similar incident occurred in Merscheid. Forensic teams were despatched to both locations to investigate the break-ins.

Additionally, in Rumelange, police apprehended a suspect who attempted to break into a home. The suspect was caught by the residents and briefly attempted to flee before being detained by authorities.
