
At around 2am on Saturday morning, police were called after a vehicle was swerving near Sandweiler travelling at 30 km/h in a 90 km/h zone. The driver's breathalyser test came back positive during the ensuing check. Since she refused a second alcohol test, her licence was revoked.
Shortly before midnight, police were told of another vehicle on the N15 that had crashed due to erratic driving. Officers were able to stop the car and check the driver. It quickly became clear that the driver was under the influence of alcohol, and his licence was subsequently revoked.
At around 5pm on Friday afternoon, a patrol in Grevenmacher stopped a driver who was struggling to stay in his lane. The driver was tested, the breathalyser test came back positive, and the licence was withdrawn.
On Friday between 10.30pm and midnight, police in Bergem carried out an alcohol check on the Grand-Rue.
Some 120 drivers were breathalysed in a standard procedural manner. In two cases, however, the test came back positive and a report was drawn up. No driving licences were withdrawn.
Between 1am and 2.30am on Saturday morning, police carried out a second alcohol check on Rue de la Reconnaissance Nationale in Bascharage. 63 drivers were breathalysed here, again as a standard procedure. In five cases the test came back positive and five reports were drawn up. The same number of licences were withdrawn on the spot.
