Several thefts have been reported to the police, including in Rue Principale in Tétange, on Boulevard Prince Henri in Luxembourg City, and in Bettembourg. In all cases, valuables were stolen.

To prevent this type of vehicle burglary, the police advise motorists to adhere to the following set of preventative measures:

• Always remove the ignition key and activate the alarm, even you are only away for a short time.
• Ensure all doors, windows, sunroof, and fuel cap are securely closed.
• Never leave valuables (cameras, mobile phones, bags, cash, credit cards, etc.) inside the vehicle.
• Do not leave anything in the boot. The boot is not a safe.
• Do not hide the spare key inside your car.
• Never leave your keys unattended in wardrobes or changing rooms.
• Never leave your identity papers, vehicle documents, or house keys inside your vehicle.
• Do not park your car in isolated or poorly lit areas.

Car confiscated on the A3

At around 4.30pm on Friday afternoon, the police were informed of a car driving dangerously on the A3.

They were able to locate the vehicle shortly afterwards at a nearby service station. However, during the subsequent inspection, the driver failed to provide a valid proof of insurance.

The public prosecutor's office ordered the immediate confiscation of the vehicle.
