Satellite providerSES negotiating merger with US competitor: Financial Times

RTL Today
According to reports from the Financial Times, Luxembourg's satellite and terrestrial telecommunications network provider SES has begun negotiating a potential merger with Intelsat.

A piece published by the newspaper outlines that both companies intend to join forces so that they can better respond to challengers in the sector, such as Elon Musk’s Space X. However, negotiations are said to be in a very early stage and it remains unclear whether a merger will actually be signed.

The Luxembourg government owns 33% of SES. In the last five years, returns of the satellite and terrestrial telecommunications network provider have continuously decreased.
