
The Luxembourg police have reported a series of burglaries that took place on Friday afternoon and overnight.
The first incident occurred at around 2pm on Rue Robert Schuman in Frisange, where a flat was targeted. The intruders stole several items before fleeing the scene.
On Rue Mère Teresa in Mersch, burglars smashed a window to gain entry into a house and made off with a collection of jewellery.
At around 5pm, another break-in was reported at a flat on Rue du Bois in Käerjeng. In this case, the perpetrators also stole several pieces of jewellery.
The series of incidents continued into the early hours of Friday night, when an attempted break-in occurred at a shop in Bonnevoie at around 2am. A police patrol responded to the scene and apprehended a suspected burglar. The individual tried to flee but was quickly immobilised by officers. CCTV footage later confirmed that the suspect was indeed the person who had tried to break into the shop.
