
During Wednesday's session at Luxembourg City's court of appeals, a man accused of burgling shops and petrol stations saw his sentence reduced from four years in prison to two - half of which will be suspended. He was also fined the sum of €2,000.
In total, three men stood trial for the series of break-ins, which took place in shops and service stations across Luxembourg from December 2016 to August 2017. The gang burgled eight different stores. The other two defendants were acquitted during their first trial. In total the group were responsible for stealing €180,000 worth of cigarettes.
