Andrée Colas was first elected to the Weiler-la-Tour council in October 2018. She is said to have made the decision to step down on 22 August, but the official announcement was only made yesterday.
Colas will remain on the council while the remaining members decide who will take over her position as senior councillor.
The politician expressed confidence over her decision, noting that she did not agree with some of the local practices, which prompted her decision to resign from the position.
