Schools will reopen with face-to-face teaching on Monday, with mandatory mask wearing from cycle 2 upwards. This measure in particular concerns many parents, as shown by the feedback our colleagues on the radio received on Friday morning’s show “Dir hutt d’Wuert”.
A number of listeners questioned the logic of forcing children to wear a mask all day long, while at the same time forcing them to take overcrowded buses to school.
Others expressed relief about mandatory mask wearing, since its effectiveness in reducing the risk of infection has been proven for a while now.
There was little understanding for some teachers’ and students’ reluctance to get tested despite getting invited to the Large Scale Testing.
Some listeners also expressed concern about people returning from holidays and potentially bringing the virus with them.
