Sam Mores studied law, worked in law firms, and came to know the legal world from the inside. Yet she never went on to practise law. Not because she could not have done so, but because she realised that another path suited her better.

Today, she is a funeral director, a decision many people may find difficult to understand, but one that felt right for her.

When grief becomes reality

Death often comes without warning. For those left behind, the world seems to stop. It is precisely in these moments that Mores enters families' lives: She organises, advises, listens, but above all, she is present. Sometimes, it is not about finding the right words, but simply about being there.

Every case is different. Every story is unique. Some days are harder than others, and some fates are not easily forgotten.

Yet Mores must keep going, remain calm, and create structure at a moment when someone else's world is falling apart. This requires not only organisational skill, but above all emotional strength.

Many of the people who come to her do not know what to say. Their grief is still too raw, the situation too surreal. This is where her work begins: listening, guiding, and slowly helping to shape a farewell that is dignified and respectful.

A conscious change

The move from the world of law to the world of death was not an escape, but a decision. Instead of paragraphs and legal texts, she chose people: real stories and real emotions. For her, it is a profession that is far more than just a job.

When everything has been organised and the ceremony takes place, one moment remains for the families: a conclusion, a final look, one last moment together. Sandy Mores makes sure that this moment unfolds as respectfully and peacefully as possible.

It is a profession many people would rather not think about. But it is also one society cannot do without.

Mores shows that even in life's most difficult moments, something important can emerge: humanity, respect, and the ability to be there for others when it truly matters.
