The meeting on Tuesday morning with the delegation and management of the Jacques Brocquart boarding schools was prompted by delayed salary payments. While the issue has since been resolved, it exposed deeper problems, particularly in communication and information-sharing between management, staff, and middle management.
Céine Conter of the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB) described the two-hour discussion as constructive, with both employees and management showing willingness to address the concerns. She stressed that clearer communication could have prevented the problem, noting that staff morale has suffered and trust in management has been shaken.
A follow-up meeting between LCGB, the staff delegation, and management is already scheduled, and the Ministry of Education has expressed willingness to join discussions to help find a solution.
Meanwhile, MP Djuna Bernard of The Greens (Déi Gréng) has submitted a parliamentary question to the Ministry of Education, requesting details on its agreement with the non-profit ‘Les internats Jacques Brocquart’ and broader information on similar agreements with other beneficiaries.
