CowlumboRTL Today reader traces Esch Cow's movements

Sunday last was a day of days in Luxembourg news terms...that is to say that a short piece about a cow taking a casual stroll along a motorway was read more often than the Coronavirus Liveticker.

As indications go, the cow's odyssey (destination still unknown), is as good a metaphor for covid fatigue (COWVID anyone?) as we can think of.

Having lent ourselves some dogeared tabloid credentials, here's a follow up of sorts.

We can accept a pat on the back, but not that kind please and thank you.

In Grogan's own words...

"I was astounded to see your cow news story from Sunday. As, I was walking Hamlet, my dog, on Sunday morning at 7am and saw this very same cow on the wrong side of the fence (although not in traffic).

I couldn’t find the farmer (although the local cows are brown not piebald, so it must have escaped from elsewhere) and when I returned later the cow was gone.

Thanks to your glorious reporting I now know where it was headed!"

We asked Mr. Grogan if he was certain that cow was really Esch Cow and he is in no doubt... "Cow exhibit b (AKA my cow) was on the A4 siding (see attached map). Maybe we should consider if the grand ducal police can use cow-printing technology for a track and trace. If it’s not the same cow we may need to consider the prospect of either:

a. Mass cow abandonments

b. Some kind of bovine coup d'etat

I for one welcome our milky overlords."
