Tram services remain suspended between the Red Bridge and the Philharmonie until Friday, 9 August, as extensive works are underway to extend the tram line across Kirchberg. The project aims to connect key institutions, , including the European Court of Justice, the European Investment Bank, and the European School—to Luxembourg’s tram network. However, the complete extension is not expected to be finished before autumn next year.

For the past five days, teams have been working round the clock at the busy junction of Avenue John F. Kennedy and Boulevard Konrad Adenauer. RTL visited the site on Monday morning to check on progress, accompanied by Jean-Charles Wiart from Luxtram, who confirmed that everything is running according to schedule. He explained to RTL that this morning the temporary track junctions to connect the existing line with the future extension along Boulevard Adenauer, in Kirchberg, are installed.
