Arthur C. Clarke FoundationRomain Bausch to receive prestigious Life Achievement Award

RTL Today
Former SES head Romain Bausch is set to be honoured with the 'Life Achievement Award' by the Arthur C. Clarke Foundation, recognising his pivotal role in advancing satellite telecommunications and his distinguished service in Luxembourg's financial sector.

Previous winners of the award include Stephen Hawking, Jeff Bezos, and Elon Musk.

In conversation with RTL, Bausch recently looked back on his career as both president and CEO of the satellite telecommunications network provider, which he helped turn into one of the biggest global players in its field. Bausch explained that there are two types of risks associated with the business. One is satellite launch failure, which he witnessed on two occasions, while the other is a lack of innovation.

Apart from being at the helm of SES, Bausch also spent close to 20 years as administrator general at Luxembourg’s Finance Minisitry and was president of the National Council for Public Finance (CNFP).
