However, this will change soon, as Minister for Mobility François Bausch wrote in his reply to a parliamentary question by MP André Bauler from the Democratic Party (DP).
In his reply, Bausch states that the Bridges and Roads Authority is “aware of the state of the road CR319 between Wiltz and Winseler and is currently working on a project to remedy the existing situation.” The reconstruction is proving to be “very complex” due to the “difficult circumstances,” namely the collapse of the retaining wall, the accumulation of supply pipes in the roadway and a thirty-metre-high destabilised embankment. The relevant geotechnical studies have been completed and several alternatives have been developed, one of which has been selected. The tender documents are currently being prepared, according to Bausch.
The estimated cost of the project is €750,000.
It is planned to launch the tender procedure by the end of the year and to start work in the summer of 2023.
