Since Friday, the Moselle has been overflowing, as excess snowmelt and rainwater run off has caused rivers to burst their banks.
As shown in our images, shot in Wasserbillig, Remich and in Schengen, widespread flooding is occurring.
The situation will remain a concern for at least the next few days:

This severe meteorological situation indicates a high risk of flooding. The southern part of the country is now placed on orange alert, and this will remain in place at least until Monday. Consequently, the flood forecasting service (SPC) of the Water Management Administration announces a "risk of minor flooding, not causing significant damage, but requiring particular vigilance."
The government department further reports that water levels will most likely continue to rise until Monday. The Moselle is expected to reach 6.2m in Stadtbredimus and 5.22m in Remich.
However, this forecast will heavily depend on current and future rainfalls. More rain and sleet is still expected.
In addition, the flood risk for the Sûre, Alzette, Chiers and Syre has been raised.
