A new rose named ‘Résilience’ was christened Thursday at Berg Castle by the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, in a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

Prime Minister Luc Frieden attended the event and served as official witness. The rose, developed by the non-profit group Patrimoine Roses Luxembourg, is dedicated to those who fought for freedom and peace.

The ceremony added a symbolic and personal touch to the royal couple’s schedule, highlighting Luxembourg’s ongoing remembrance of its wartime history.
