The intense heat gripping Luxembourg this week shows no sign of easing, with Meteolux extending its red-level warning through to Sunday morning 7am.

As the Weather-Flood Risk Assessment Cell (CERI) announced in a press release, temperatures in some parts of the country could exceed 40°C at the peak on Saturday. The night from Saturday to Sunday could also become the hottest of this heatwave, with temperatures remaining between 24°C and 26°C.

Authorities continue to advise residents to stay well hydrated and to limit strenuous outdoor physical activity wherever possible.

High temperatures are predicted to continue during the weekend, which means further alert extensions are not out of the question.
