Road safetyReckless drivers caught under the influence

RTL Today
On Wednesday, the police had to intervene in two separate incidents involving drunk drivers.

The first incident involved a lorry driver, who was stopped by the police in Contern for having displayed reckless driving behaviour. As the alcohol flash test came back positive, the man was awarded a fine as well as a provisional driving ban.

Later on Wednesday, a car caught the attention of witnesses for its dangerous zigzag driving on the A13 and A4 motorways. The car subsequently hit other vehicles stationed at the side of the road in Schifflange. The woman was finally stopped by the police in the "Op Hulden" residential area.

Although the officers informed the driver of the consequences, she refused to take an alcohol test, despite being visibly intoxicated. Her license was thus revoked at the scene and she was awarded a provisional driving ban. The police informed the owner of the vehicle of the damage.
