The two individuals visited the residence on Rue de Mâcon, claiming they were collecting charity donations, when one asked the victim for a glass of water. After the scammers had departed, the resident realised they had taken advantage of her brief absence to steal her purse.
Police launched a search for the scammers but all efforts were in vain. An investigation has been opened into the matter.
