Two individuals held overnight at police stations

On Saturday evening, a man was reported for alleged harassment on Rue du Parc in Rumelange, as well as property damage, and traffic obstruction.

Initially cooperative, the man grew increasingly agitated, resisting instructions and hurling insults at the police officers.

When he refused to calm down during a medical examination and the journey to the police station, it was decided that he would spend the night in a cell.

In a separate incident shortly after 3pm, officers received a call regarding a man who had supposedly threatened another person on Rue Notre-Dame in Luxembourg City and was now reportedly damaging their vehicle.

The heavily intoxicated man, who disrupted public peace and posed a threat to himself and others, was also held at the police station after undergoing a medical check.

Suspected thieves apprehended in Luxembourg City

At around 1pm on Saturday, two individuals stole a bag from an unsuspecting person in Kirchberg. Following an investigation, two suspects were identified and captured.

The victim’s bank card was found in the possession of one suspect, while the bag was recovered nearby. Both suspects were taken into custody for further investigation.

During Sunday night, the police were called to Rue de Hollerich after an assailant attempted to snatch a watch from a victim’s wrist. When the victim resisted, a second assailant struck them on the head, allowing both perpetrators to flee. However, a patrol quickly apprehended the culprits, who were subsequently taken to the police station and subjected to a search.

Drinking and driving

At approximately 11am on Saturday, a collision occurred between two cars at the intersection of Route de Kayl and Rue Gaffelt in Dudelange. One of the drivers sustained minor injuries, while the other driver tested positive for alcohol. Consequently, the individual’s driving licence was confiscated.

In Esch-sur-Alzette, at around 2am on Sunday, a patrol noticed a vehicle driving in the bus lane. Upon conducting a check, the officers found that the driver was inebriated. As a result, a temporary driving ban was imposed.
