The Association of Prison Guards (AAP) has reported another incident at one of Luxembourg's prisons. A guard was hospitalised after being attacked by an inmate with a pan on Friday, first receiving treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital for further care.
The AAP is once again sounding the alarm and calling for investigations into the situation, citing impossible working conditions. In particular, the penitentiary centre locally known as Uerschterhaff prison is overcrowded, the association wrote, and its capacities are reaching their limits. Staff and inmates alike are under immense pressure, leading to increased security concerns for all involved.
