Following last week’s knife attack in the Gare district, in which one person was injured with a knife, the presumed perpetrator has seen his refugee status withdrawn, Minister for Home Affairs Léon Gloden announced in the Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday afternoon.
The Ministry has the right to withdraw refugee status from an immigrant if that person poses a threat to the country’s security, and Gloden decided to do so. The minister also specified that this decision has no impact on the ongoing investigation.
