Right across the church at the Rue de Mondercange in Ehlerange stands the old presbytery. Attentive passersby can’t miss the recent changes made in this location. Our colleagues at RTL Lëtzebuerg contacted the municipal authorities at Sanem for further information.
As the owner of the presbytery, the municipal authorities decided to demolish the building, which stands in a desolate state, in order to make space for a public square accessible to all.
Work is already underway, including the removal of asbestos from the building, which is estimated to take a month. The demolition of the building will then follow.
Due to the construction site, a diversion for pedestrians will be set up, but no diversion is deemed necessary for traffic, according to the Sanem municipal authorities.
The details of the planned public square are yet to be determined.
