Around noon, the electricity went out in several localities in the municipality. After an hour, power returned in some areas, but later went out again.

Grid operator Creos confirmed to RTL that teams have been sent to the site and that the problem was being investigated intensively.

After almost two hours, Creos then issued a message saying that the problem had been located and resolved. The cause was said to be a tree that had fallen onto an electrical line due to “unfavourable meteorological conditions”.

The power network operator also addressed the affected residents, apologising for the inconvenience caused by the outage.
