After the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) had already reported an accident between Windhof and Steinfort on Sunday evening, police have now launched a witness appeal.
According to police, the collision happened at around 11.10pm on the N6 between Windhof and Steinfort, near the junction with Hagen, and involved two cars.
One of the vehicles reportedly struck the other near the rear driver's side, causing the driver of the car that was hit to lose control and end up in a ditch. The driver who caused the collision did not stop and fled the scene without dealing with the damage.
The other driver was injured in the collision and taken to hospital. Ambulance crews from Mamer and firefighters from the Steinfort-Koerich centre were also at the scene.
Police are looking for witnesses who may have information about the accident. Anyone who can help is asked to contact Capellen police on 244 30 1000 or by email at police.CAPELLENSTEINFORT@police.etat.lu.
