In their official communication, the police refer to a 'breach of trust' in relation to the Bofferdange case. According to their information, on 13 December 2025, a man claiming to be a car dealership employee visited the victim and said he wanted to buy his vehicle.
During the transaction, the alleged buyer showed the victim a supposed transfer confirmation, but the money never reached the victim.
In light of this, police are searching for the pictured individual.
All information that could help to identify the person in question should be passed on to the Mersch Police Station. This can be done either by calling (+352) 244 90 1000 or by sending an email to police.mersch@police.etat.lu.
In addition, the police have reported several car thefts on Monday and Tuesday. In Bonnevoie, unknown individuals smashed a car window, stealing a laptop and a basket in the process. In Verlorenkost, the window of another car was smashed, but police have not specified whether anything was stolen.
