Police received a report at around 9.15pm on Tuesday about a dispute between two individuals on a tram in Luxembourg City.

According to initial information, the confrontation began as a verbal argument but escalated when one person sprayed the other in the face with pepper spray. Officers quickly arrived at the scene, arrested the suspected perpetrator, and seized the pepper spray.

The victim received immediate assistance from emergency services and was transported to hospital for further examination. However, due to uncooperative behaviour and concerns for their safety and that of others, the victim was subsequently placed in a holding cell.

Two further intoxicated individuals detained

Earlier that day, at around 4.30pm, police were alerted to a disruptive passenger on a bus heading towards Echternach.

The man, who was reportedly smoking on board, was apprehended by a police patrol at a bus stop shortly after the incident was reported. Given his high level of intoxication and the danger he posed to himself and others, he was placed in a holding cell.

In a separate incident, a woman verbally abused and shouted at police officers before standing in front of a police vehicle, leading to her detention in a holding cell as well.
