The police has therefore announced that starting Saturday, they will conduct extensive checks of motorcycle safety. This means that they will control drivers' equipment, registration papers, as well as the technical condition of the vehicle.
Authorities further bid caution in their statement, reminding bikers that after a long winter with bad weather conditions, most are likely to have lost practice.
