According to initial reports, law enforcement immediately cordoned off the surrounding area after the incident, launching a search for the two individuals.
The burglary is said to have taken place at around midday on Monday in Hassel.
The police are urging the public to be vigilant and are asking for any suspicious individuals to be reported immediately to the emergency number 113. Picking up hitchhikers is strongly discouraged until further notice in the area concerned.
