Luxembourg police intensified traffic controls across the country on Monday, 15 April, as part of the annual Speedmarathon initiative targeting speeding and dangerous driving.
Officers carried out approximately 1,060 checks during the day, detecting a total of 620 offences.
In seventeen cases, drivers had their licences withdrawn on the spot for excessive speed. In addition to these roadside checks, both fixed and mobile speed cameras were deployed extensively, recording a total of 6,950 speeding incidents nationwide over the course of the operation.
