According to witness statements, the man was armed with a pistol and making his way towards the town centre. He allegedly dropped the weapon several times along the way.
When officers arrived to confront the man, they determined that he was highly intoxicated. They seized the pistol, which he had stored in his back pocket, and found that it was made of plastic.
Since his behaviour was considered a breach of the peace, the man had to spend the night at the police station to sober up.
