Police teams began their alcohol checks at Potaschberg at 9pm on Thursday, remaining at the site for about an hour before relocating to Mertert at 10.45pm. Officers continued their checks there for another hour.
Over the course of the evening, 188 motorists were checked at both locations. Six drivers were found to be over the legal alcohol limit: five received written reports, while one driver had their licence confiscated on the spot.
During the checks, police also identified 13 additional violations of the Highway Code.
