Six fines were dished out to bars for not respecting the rules, and nine to people for consuming alcohol inside a shop.

The police identified six bars that were still open and serving alcoholic beverages to customers, who did not respect the sanitary rules.

During a patrol in Esch-sur-Alzette on 14 January, officers discovered nine people hiding in the back room of a grocery store after 6 pm. They were drinking alcohol and playing on gaming machines, for which they received fines.

A further 140 people received monetary fines, 80% of which were awarded for violating the curfew.
