
Police in Huldange responded to a reported burglary at around 7.10pm on Tuesday. They discovered two suspects inside a single-family home, where the individuals had already searched the office spaces. A patrol unit apprehended both suspects.
During a search, officers found various items in the suspects’ possession, including mobile phones and cash. Consequently, they were arrested on orders from the public prosecutor and brought before an examining magistrate the following morning.
Police also reported two separate incidents of mugging in Luxembourg City on Tuesday.
The first incident occurred shortly after 4pm on Rue Felix de Blochausen, where an unknown perpetrator surprised a person from behind, forced them to the ground, and stole their mobile phone. However, a witness observed the robbery and pursued the suspect, eventually managing to recover the stolen phone. The perpetrator subsequently fled the scene. The victim sustained injuries to the wrist and shoulder and required medical treatment in hospital.
A second incident took place at around 10pm on Place d'Armes, where a dispute broke out between several individuals. According to initial reports, a group of men attacked two others and stole their mobile phones before fleeing. When police arrived, both victims showed clear signs of alcohol consumption. One of the men had been kicked in the head during the altercation and was taken to hospital.
In both mugging cases, police issued fines and launched investigations.
