On 29 and 30 June, customs officers carried out a major anti-drug operation in the Gare district of Luxembourg City, police announced on Wednesday morning.

Over the course of the two-day crackdown, officers arrested eight individuals suspected of dealing drugs. All eight suspects subsequently appeared before an investigating judge.

These latest arrests bring the total number of drug-related detentions in June alone to 35, which is the highest monthly figure recorded in 2026 to date.

Since the start of the year, police have made 148 arrests in connection with drug trafficking across the country.

To put these numbers into perspective, police detained a total of 216 suspected drug dealers over the entirety of 2025. As in previous years, most of those apprehended this year have been arrested in Luxembourg City.
