A video showcasing the daily activities of Minister for Home Affairs Léon Gloden has been widely circulated on social media, sparking enquiries and discussions. Prime Minister Luc Frieden has now addressed the situation, stating that it is common for politicians to transparently showcase their work through social media videos. He was responding to the publication of a video featuring Minister Gloden, which drew attention from various political parties.

In two separate parliamentary questions, MPs Corinne Cahen and Guy Arendt of the Democratic Party (DP), as well as Meris Šehović of the Green Party (déi Gréng), questioned whether the video constituted a conflict of interest by promoting a minister. They also sought clarity on the funding source for the clip.

Prime Minister Luc Frieden clarified that, in this instance, no budget from the Ministry of Home Affairs was used for the video, despite the fact that it was shared by the Ministry’s official social media account and featured the Ministry’s logo at the beginning.
