Petition No 2301 was submitted on April 3, the same day as the temporary closure of the Ettelbruck maternity clinic was announced. The petition requests that a maternity clinic and an emergency paediatric centre be established in northern Luxembourg. The Ettelbruck maternity clinic has reopened since then.
The other petition, No 2332, requests that parental leave be increased from six to nine months.
A petition must be debated in the Chamber of Deputies once it collects over 4,500 signatures. Once the deadline has passed, the validity of the signatures is confirmed before the final approval.
