Police have identified and arrested a suspect in connection with fraudulent activity carried out using the LuxTrust app. The individual is due to appear before an examining magistrate on Friday.

Several similar cases have been reported in recent days. Victims are contacted by individuals posing as bank or LuxTrust employees and are asked to enter their login credentials via links sent in messages, which lead to counterfeit websites. The perpetrators then use the stolen details to access accounts and transfer large sums of money.

This type of fraud has been a recurring issue in the Grand Duchy throughout 2025, with multiple spates of fraudulent activity being reported.

Police have reiterated that banks never ask customers to disclose card details, access credentials or personal information. LuxTrust users who have doubts are advised to contact their bank through official channels and not to act under pressure. Any suspected fraud or financial loss should be reported to the police without delay.
