The ambulance service was mobilised at Findel, shortly after 6pm, to assist a pedestrian who was hit by a car on rue de Trèves. The Sandweiler and Luxembourg fire brigades were called to the scene, as was an ambulance from Luxembourg City.

The police confirmed on Saturday morning that the pedestrian was seriously injured. The victim was treated on the spot before being hospitalised. The circumstances of the incident are yet to be determined.

Elsewhere, the Luxembourgish emergency services had anything but a quiet Friday evening.

Another incident took place at around 5.15pm, when two cars collided on the A13 motorway. One person was injured and assisted by the emergency services of Mondorf, Remich, Frisange, Aspelt and Samu Luxembourg. As a result, traffic on the A13 motorway was severely disrupted on Friday evening.

Two further incidents occurred in Luxembourg on Boulevard de Verdun and in Hesperange on Route de Thionville. In the first case, a bus hit a motorcyclist and in the second, two cars collided. Both incidents resulted in one person injured. The emergency services of Bettembourg, Hesperange and Luxembourg were mobilised.
