Police reported on Friday that a fatal traffic accident occurred on Christmas Day at around 8.25pm.
The incident involved a car striking a pedestrian on the road between Lorentzweiler and Lintgen, just before the entrance to Lintgen. According to the initial police report, the pedestrian was in the middle of the roadway at the time of the collision.
Despite the immediate intervention of paramedics, the 49-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The forensic police have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident. Additionally, the public prosecutor’s office has ordered an autopsy of the victim’s body.
