The construction of a wildlife crossing at the border is progressing. A new phase is set to start this weekend, resulting in a partial closure of the motorway.
According to the Bridges and Roads Authority, both lanes of traffic in the direction Luxembourg->France will be closed between the Luxembourgish border and the ‘Zoufftgen’ border crossing.
In concrete terms, traffic headed towards France will be diverted to the opposite lanes on this stretch of road. Motorists will thus be limited to one lane in each direction, with a speed limit of 70 km/h.
The works will start on Friday 21 April at around 9pm and will end on Monday 24 April at 4am. However, drivers should be aware that the preparatory work necessary for the change of traffic on the motorway will be carried out before that time. The Bridges and Roads Authority cautions that “traffic disruptions are possible from late afternoon onwards.”
